He looks up and asks, “What is a daddy?”
“A daddy is like a mountain in the wind.”
“How is a daddy like a mountain in the wind?”
“While he may grow worn and weary, he does not yield.”

He grows older and asks, “What is a daddy?”
“I am but the mule on which a young boy rides, and the paver of a road.”
He laughs and asks, “How are you a mule.”
“Because, my son, for a time, I shall carry you, and awe in the honor.”

As a man he stands eye to eye and asks, “What is a daddy?”
“A sword and shield, no harm shall pass here.”
Not sure he asks, “I don’t know if I can do this.”
“While I was the mule and I carried you, the Lord carried both of us.”

As an older man he asks a stone, “Where are you Daddy?”
The stone does not respond, but it does stand strong still.
He closes his eyes and says to the Lord, “I don’t have much left.”
The Lord says, “I have carried you your whole life, and I stand strong still.”

I may change this up a bit but it’s a nice thought I think. 🙂
