When the occasion presents itself, I say, “Seek God, whether you believe any of it or not, regardless of whatever you were taught, and the path by which he wishes you to be on will, indeed, reveal itself.”
There was a time when I wrote poetry describing Mary as a whore, and Jesus as a joke, but the underlying truth that resided in these sins, in a time when I was most in pain, I was screaming to God, begging for guidance, lost but trying to find my way. He did not see the sin of the crying boy. He simply saw the crying boy.
At no time have I witnessed a burning bush or some blantantly life changing experience, but what I did witness, is as long as I cried out to him, as long as I have kept my vow to being the best father I could be, never have I been forgotten, never a problem came that there was no solution, never was my family and I forsaken.
Even with these bits of evidence in my life faith is a difficult thing. Life can be relentless and unforgivng. But I have without fail, without compromise, even at my most weakest times, have I failed to pray. There was a time when I stole from a man, to pay for my way, to enroll myself in counseling and drug rehab. I prayed while commiting this theft that this sacrifice of self would yeild fruit that would make me a better man. I am no longer like my father and I walk a different path and this in of itself is all the evidence I need to know that as long as I seek God, God will be found.
This is the same for all, this is the natural fact of our lives, this is the undeniable truth of life. It matters not what path you are on, if you seek God, the path you need to be on, will be found and He will, without fail, walk beside you.
There are four major religions in this world that all originate from the lineage of Abraham. Christianity, Judaism, Catholicism, and Islam. And there are many other people from many other lands that believe in other things. The one unifying truth among them all, all the people’s of this world, is the truth of life, which is the truth of God. All any of us can do is seek God to find whatever path God intends for us. And it is within this unifying truth that none of us is right and none of us is wrong, and only the Almighty God can judge. We men, we are all fools.
And as an added note, science is real and a completely legitimate thing to study and love. There is no reason whatsoever that you cannot love God and physics at the same time. Neither contradict the other. As a matter of fact, God created all we can see, feel, and experience. The universe is meant to be studied and admired. It would be an utter shame not to.
